Midwest Specialty Distribution Plant Expanding as Companies Focus on Sales and Distribution Issues
Vandalia, Ill. (PRWEB) August 13, 2013 -- OctoChem, based in Vandalia, Ill., is expanding as a result of various industries addressing a growing need to more effectively handle the packaging and distribution of product samples and one-off product requests. The plant provides the solution to these needs through their innovative Sample Distribution and Specialty Packaging (SDSP) process, a process that addresses the challenges involving storing and distributing samples.
OctoChem’s clients include those in a variety of industries, including personal care, biotech, pharmacy, chemical and food and flavors. Companies in each of these industries will benefit from OctoChem’s recent expanded capacity, product offerings and Globally Harmonized System (GHS) compliant operation.
The Vandalia campus has expanded with a 60,000 square foot addition. This addition includes a new fire room storage enclosure and a state-of-the-art clean room, two resources that are important to every industry OctoChem serves.
The extra capacity provided by this expansion will be immeasurably beneficial to OctoChem, its clients and the surrounding community. Mark Langston, president of OctoChem, estimates the expansion will result in as many as 24 new staff positions at the company. He also sees this expansion as an opportunity to increase knowledge of his company’s groundbreaking SDSP process.
“The unique OctoChem business offering, known here as SDSP, provides a solution to a problem most companies don’t even know they have,” says Langston. “We break down bulk packages from our clients and ship them to end users in the exact size and amount they request. In many cases their end users willingly pay to receive these products exactly as requested. As a result, our clients are able to increase sales and decrease distribution costs without end users ever having to know that we played a role in the distribution process.”

About OctoChem: Mark Langston founded OctoChem in 1995 in Vandalia, Ill. The company strives to reach the needs of various domestic and international companies by providing each stage of sample fulfillment; including, fabrication, packaging, shipping and tracking.
About the Sample Distribution and Specialty Distribution (SDSP) Process: SDSP, a term coined by OctoChem, refers to the process of breaking down and distributing samples to end users in the exact amount requested. OctoChem, working as an invisible middleman, stores large quantities of various chemicals, ingredients and other items before splitting and packaging them into various sizes requested by end users or the clients’ sales staff. As a result, OctoChem’s clients have turned their sample and specialty packaging effort from being an inefficient, costly expense into a profit center for their companies.
