Jonathan Goodman, professor at The School of Internet Marketing and President of Halyard Consulting discussed on his weekly podcast; how a business can maximize its marketing potential and improve the standard rate of return above one to two percent on marketing strategies.

Goodman discussed three apps he recommends for use with email to increase efficiency in marketing and the common misconception that many business owners have about how much of their profits should be put back into marketing. Often, businesses think a small percentage of the profits should be reinvested in marketing and advertising and the rest reserved in the bank. Goodman's stance is that after the bills are paid, everything that is left over should be put back into marketing for a small business. With a rate of return of only one or two percent, it is important to put as much funding back into the business as possible. This is the primary reason many businesses struggle to grow.

He continued to explain that a business has more options for marketing with more money. They aren't limited to one or two strategies as they are if they only put a small amount of money towards marketing. The focus for business owners needs to be on growing their business.
