World's leading barcode software!

ConnectCode, a world leading provider of barcode software and fonts, today announced the release of a new version (v10.0) of ConnectCode Barcode Software and Fonts. This version introduces new barcode fonts in the Web Open Font Format (WOFF) to create standards-compliant barcodes on the cloud.

The WOFF format is an optimized font format that uses compression to ensure efficient distribution over the web. It is a format recommended by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and has the backing of many internet browsers and type foundries. By using ConnectCode's WOFF barcode fonts, cloud developers can create barcodes using fonts on demand over the web without font installation in the operating system. The barcodes generated using WOFF barcode fonts have been tested vigorously by scanning on both the display of mobile devices and the printed output from the browser's default print engine.

ConnectCode’s software package for cloud developers also includes Open Type (OTF) and Embedded Open Type (EOT) barcode fonts for legacy browsers support. This ensures the barcodes are compatible across different browsers such as Internet Explorer, Safari, Opera, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome and on mobile browsers such as those on running on iOS, Android and Windows Phone/WinRT.

The software package offers flexibility to developers by providing Javascripts/jQuery scripts and .Net DLLs for barcode generation. The use of Javascripts/jQuery ensures that the solution is cross cloud platform compatible. While the .Net DLL allows the Windows Azure Cloud developer the flexibility to generate barcodes in the Web Role or Worker Role.
