Vietnam’s Energy Balance: A Key Focus at 15th VOGP on 12-13 September 2013 in Ho Chi Minh City
Ho Chi Mihn City, Vietnam (PRWEB) August 13, 2013 -- Owning one of the largest oil and gas reserves in the Asia Pacific region and an expanding demand for oil and gas, Vietnam is an emerging energy market from the perspective of both supply and demand.
Giving an overview on opportunities and challenges in ‘Vietnam Oil and Gas Development and E&P Market’ and update on licensing round is Dr. Phan Tien Vien, General Manager, of Exploration Division, PetroVietnam. Another key speaker is Mr. Tran Hung Hien, Vice President of gas major PetroVietnam Gas Corporation, with his assessment on ‘Vietnam LNG - Will Demand Meet with Gas Imports?’ and views on plans to build re-gasification terminal to accommodate growing demand for gas. Effective 8th June 2013, a new model of PSC was issued by government of Vietnam. The model has been revised in tandem with the expected increase in oil and gas exploration and production operations. It now limits the rights previously allowed and incorporates important legislative developments that affect investors’ decision-making process. For that reason, 15th VOGP invites Mr. Luu Hoang Ha, Partner, VILAF, to analyse this model via a presentation on ‘Vietnam Model PSC 2013 and Protecting Energy Investment in Vietnam’.
Also contributing are Mr. Vo Tri Thanh, Vice President of Central Institute for Economic Management, Ministry of Planning and Investment, who will summarize the Asian Market in his address on ‘Asia Economic Outlook’. Mr. Oliver Massmann, Partner at Duane Morris Vietnam LLC, will share on ‘How to Make Vietnam a Regional Offshore Oil & Gas Hub’; and Mr. Luca Tonello, SVP - Investment Banking and Valery Tubbax, First VP-Investment Banking at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, present their views on expectations of lenders to investors and criteria and requirements for financing via paper on “Project Financing in Vietnam”.
Refreshed for 2013, the 15th VOGP also covers issues including the latest tax implications of farm-in and farm-out, changes in energy regulatory framework and implementation practices, renewable energy and bio fuel developments along with environmental issues and Myanmar and Cambodia’s oil & gas outlook. The conference will also impart to participants practical advice related to managing potential investment disputes with partners.
