11,000 properties in Turkey have been sold since the law was changed.

Taking the form of past investment guides, the latest video takes investors through essential knowledge about the country’s simple purchase process, as well as supplementary knowledge including tourist statistics, changes to the law, which have created an upsurge in foreign direct investment (FDI), and infrastructure plans for the future.

“Our online video guide for Turkey shows why it is a great place to invest due to its strong economic climate, rental potential, relatively low priced property and easy purchase process.” Comments Knight Knox International Sales Consultant, Janet Mcgovern. “Knight Knox has an extensive portfolio of properties in most of the coastal areas and Istanbul which is proving very popular with the Middle East buyers due to the change in purchasing laws.”

A country still reaping the rewards of a pioneering rule change, the abolishment of the reciprocity law last year, which opened the country up to investment from the Middle East, Russia and Asia; Turkey has seen a sea-change in terms of FDI, with a total of 11,000 properties having been sold since the law changed. Further barriers were removed when residency permits were extended for foreign investors from three months to one year and recent figures show that this new simple purchase process is being advocated across the world, with the country’s Ministry of Environment and Urban Planning declaring that property sales to overseas buyers doubled in the first six months of 2013, compared to the same period last year.

Turkey expects foreign real estate purchases to reach $3 billion this year and with a study from Ernst and Young, ‘The European Real Assets Investment Trend Indicator 2013’, finding that Turkey is the second most attractive property market in Europe, this is a time for investors to seriously consider targeting turkey.
