Crowd It Forward Creates Crowdfunding Project For Homeless High School Valedictorian
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) August 14, 2013 -- Crowd It Forward, a crowdfunding website owned and operated by the ClickStartMe Foundation, Inc., launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise funds for Chelesa Fearce, whose inspirational viral story involves her being named valedictorian of her high school class, despite being homeless for much of her four years of high school. Tax-deductible donations to help Chelesa continue college education may be made here at Crowd It Forward.
“I cannot even imagine the obstacles that Chelesa had to overcome, being homeless and still becoming valedictorian of her high school class,” Crowd It Forward founder and crowdfunding expert Kendall Almerico said. “Chelesa’s dedication and perseverance is inspiring to us all, and we wanted to help her continue her inspiring story by helping her financially.”
The incredible story, as reported by CNN, shows that Fearce and her family have been homeless for years, living out of shelters, cars and occasionally short-lived apartments while her mom struggled to keep a job. Fearce would crack open books at the homeless shelter and read with a cell phone light when necessary. Despite the incredible odds, Fearce graduated with a 4.46 GPA, and is heading to Spelman College in the fall with enough credits to be a junior. Crowd It Forward created a Random Act of Crowdfunding project to raise money to help Fearce with her ongoing educational expenses.
