Ingram Helps M-Y Books Bring Barbara Cartland Works to Life
Nashville, TN (PRWEB) August 13, 2013 -- Fans of Barbara Cartland will now have access to many of the late author’s existing novels, as well as new, unpublished titles, through a joint effort between M-Y Books and Ingram Content Group Inc. M-Y Books, a leading services provider to independent publishers, will use Ingram to print and distribute hundreds of Cartland’s titles, some for the first time ever.
"Barbara Cartland is a unique author known worldwide for her pure romance writing and novels that are perfect for family reading," said Jonathan Miller, Managing Director, M-Y Books. "Through the comprehensive services of Ingram, once again all of the titles of one of the most popular authors of all time will be available worldwide."
Working closely with Cartland's son, Ian McCorquodale, M-Y Books is using a combination of Ingram’s distribution, print and digital solutions to expand the reach of three collections of titles from Cartland's library: the Eternal Collection, the Pink Collection and a Spanish Language Collection. The print editions will be manufactured on-demand by Lightning Source® and distributed worldwide through Ingram. Ingram's e-book distribution platform, CoreSource®, will distribute the e-book editions.
Regarded as one of most prolific romance novelists of the 20th century, Cartland published 723 books in her lifetime that were translated into 38 languages and sold worldwide. Writing her final book at age 97, Cartland left behind 160 unpublished manuscripts.
"We are pleased to work with M-Y books to introduce Barbara Cartland to a new generation of readers. Whether print or digital, her titles can now be enjoyed by more readers around the world," said David Taylor, Senior Vice President, Content Acquisition International, Ingram Content Group. “This is just one example of how single-copy print on demand is fundamentally transforming the publishing industry to expand the reach of books worldwide."
The Eternal Collection includes classic titles from Barbara Cartland's beloved romance novels. Nearly 100 Eternal Collection titles are available in print, and e-book versions will follow. The Pink Collection was developed to bring Ms. Cartland's 160 unpublished manuscripts to life. More than 103 titles from the Pink Collection are currently available in print and e-book formats. Titles in the Spanish Collection are being added over time.
