In September 2012 Abadak Inc. decided to open up its own retail store offering its unique brand of tarps, canopies, pop-up tents and various type of covers and out door specialty gear. Since then, the store has become a smashing success. The makeshift retail facility was built connected to its distribution warehouse on trade center drive. Now the company wants to relocate its retail store to an area with more foot traffic.
Abadak sales manager Steve Benson said, “The retail store has been a resounding success. Whenever customers need tarps, canopies of any kind, we practically see everybody in the antelope Valley area. Our radio ad is doing well, but getting additional foot traffic would be great.”
In addition to higher sales, the company’s other motivation for a more exposed retail store is to promote the brand name and expand public awareness.
Abadak founder and CEO Michael Stein told us, “We have been collaborating with Mayor Ledford, as well as the Palmdale business development team and plan to solidify our presence in the antelope Valley area for a long time.”
Abadak’s websites consist of http://www.tarpsplus.com, which offers all its tarps and various covers. Canopies and pop-up tents, as well as party tents are offered at http://www.acecanopy.com. The company specialty outdoor gear products are offered at http://www.abadak.com . The retail store would offer all the products that are offered on all the websites.
Several locations in the antelope area are being looked at as far as a possible location. Palmdale Boulevard will most likely be a front runner.
In addition to the retail store, the company will be opening being a secondary hub in Paramount California to handle importing logistics. Tarps plus is one of the leading tarps supplier’s in North America and imports hundreds of thousands of tarps a year.
