Clayton Orthodontist Britt Vinson Awards Scholarship to Local Student
Clayton, North Carolina (PRWEB) August 14, 2013 -- Clayton Orthodontist, Britt Vinson, understands the importance of dedication to a goal. It was his dedication that found him in his current career and the same drive that continues to motivate him today. Naturally, Dr. Vinson admires that enthusiasm in his patients both past and present. With that vision in mind, Dr. Vinson initiated the “Vinson Orthodontics Scholarship Program” whereby he awards his patients who are dedicated to higher education.
In order to apply for the scholarship, students must be or have been patients of Vinson Orthodontics, maintain a GPA above a 2.5 on a 4.0 scale or a 3.75 on a 6.0 scale, and involved in extracurricular activities and/or other community involvement. Each applicant must submit an essay under a subject selected by Dr. Vinson. This year’s essay was titled “Choose an experience from your own life and explain how it has influenced who you are today.” Dr. Britt Vinson, stated, "This isn't just a job to us...we get to see these patients totally transform themselves. This scholarship is just a small way for us to be apart of them attaining their goals!"
The 2013 “Vinson Orthodontic Scholarship” was awarded to Lindsey Kunz. She is recently graduated with a GPA of 4.37 and will attend North Carolina State University beginning in the fall. Lindsey was a competitive gymnast throughout her high school years and it was that same dedication she has put in to her education. In her essay she states, “My coach once told me that the difference between a dream and a goal is a plan. His words have permeated my mind and affected my decisions on a regular basis. Everyone has dreams, and anyone can wish, but the individuals who create a plan to succeed are the ones who set themselves apart and do great things.” Dr. Vinson congratulates Lindsey, “Myself and everyone at Vinson Orthodontics are proud of Lindsey and her accomplishments. We are thankful to give back to our patients and our community…especially those who have been working so hard to become successful. We wish her all the best and look forward to great things from her.”
