Santa Rosa, CA (PRWEB) August 15, 2013 -- The inaugural Wine Country Group Better Homes & Gardens poker tournament with Live and Silent Auctions and prizes will be held Friday, September 20 at the Fountaingrove Inn in Santa Rosa, to benefit Sonoma County Children's Village and The Living Room.
The bar and silent auction opens at 5:00pm with the buffet dinner at 5:30pm and the tournament at 7:00pm. The $75 entry fee includes a buffet dinner by Equus restaurant executive chef Doug Mahoney; $20 unlimited re-buys will be available until the first break; players must be 21 or older.
Many generous donations are being received including the Grand Prize of a month’s paid mortgage, up to $2,500 contributed by Better Homes & Gardens. Participants will also have the opportunity to buy keys to a private wine collection and a customized home wine cellar with other selected prizes. The evening will also feature a Live Auction and a Silent Auction with prizes ranging from $100 - $500 and above. Each Mason-McDuffie office will also create and donate a distinctive gift basket for the auctions.
“Funds raised at the poker tournament benefit the community in several ways: Children’s Village and The Living Room will receive funds for special projects and needed services. And, one lucky homeowner will also benefit,” said Kathy Ollerton, Director of Charities for Better Homes and Gardens Mason-McDuffie Real Estate and founder of the World Transformation Center.
The Children’s Village, located in Sonoma County, establishes a stable, family-like setting for children in foster care, minimizing the upheaval and disruption of multiple placements and providing the opportunity for siblings from all over the Bay Area to grow up together. The Living Room is the only day center in Sonoma County specifically serving homeless and at risk women and their children.
Hosts of the Poker4Charities Tournament include agents, managers and staff of Better Homes and Gardens Mason-McDuffie Real Estate in partnership with the World Transformation Center (WTC). Other sponsorships are available.
