AlertSystems Respond to CCTV of Alleged Alcohol Distraction Theft
(PRWEB UK) 14 August 2013 -- Bicester police have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to talk to in relation to an alleged alcohol theft at a shop in Bicester reports Buckingham Today on August 3.
The incident happened on Saturday June 20 shortly before 5pm when a man took a selection of drinks to the cashier before putting a fake card into the chip and pin machine. He then pretended to enter a PIN before running out of the store with his haul.
A distraction theft is the means of distracting a member of staff before making off with or pocketing items. It can often be hard to spot until after it has happened and the thief can’t be stopped.
A spokesperson from AlertSystems said:
“Distraction thefts are often very calculated and can be difficult to spot. Thieves are usually gone before an employee will notice what’s going on. The presence of a CCTV security system can help provide vital information in helping to catch the person responsible. Employers and employees can also view the footage to work out procedures they can put in place to stop it happening again.”
