STARS Emergency Notification Gets a Lift from ERMS
Oakville, ON (PRWEB) August 14, 2013 -- For STARS (Shock Trauma Air Rescue Society), an organization that specializes in the emergency transport and care of others, it’s about getting to the right place at the right time—no matter the situation. This means having seamless communications in the event of a full-blown crisis, which is why they recently expanded their safety net with the implementation of ERMS’ Advantage emergency notification system.
Advantage is part of the STARS Emergency Contact Centre that provides round the clock crisis communications services. While they already had mass notification software, its uses were limited. They wanted the added security of a system able to handle emergency situations, and a solution both robust and adaptable enough to fulfill their unique needs, which included divisional separation of groups to allow distinctly branded messages to be sent to their different stakeholder groups.
ERMS Advantage’s user-friendly and highly sophisticated system met STARS’ stringent emergency notification requirements. The ability to upload different organizational logos and choose color themes to coordinate with each division’s branding, as well as its many advanced multi-language support and campaign options, provided additional value to STARS.
The fact that one of the STARS technology managers was already familiar with the software, and that ERMS came with a recommendation from one of the dispatch agencies, further strengthened the decision to choose ERMS Advantage.
“When we were shopping around for an emergency notification vendor, one of the key components we were looking for was a company that allowed customized solutions and the ability to grow the product as our needs grew. ERMS has not disappointed us!” says Kaz Matsumoto, Emergency Contact Centre Manager at STARS. “Their team has been very responsive to our needs and has been quick to provide options and solutions to our growing service demands.”
Currently, Advantage is in place to deal with oil and gas emergencies. However, future plans may include using the system for two-way communication between the physicians, as well as the activation of STARS internal emergency response plan.
“We’re pleased ERMS is able to add value to the life-saving services offered by STARS,” says Sylvain Rollin, President and CEO. “It really is their vision statement—‘Saving lives through partnership, innovation and leadership’—in action,” he added.
