AREAWARE Launches Fall Collection at NY NOW: Design Driven Gift Company Expands Collection & Welcomes New Designers
New York, NY (PRWEB) August 15, 2013 -- AREAWARE announces the launch of its 2013 Fall Collection at NY NOW (formally the New York International Gift Fair). From August 18th through August 21st, 2013, its new products will be on view at the company’s booth, #4002, located in Accent on Design.
AREAWARE specializes in functional and unusual items created by upcoming and established industrial designers. Through a submission process, designers share product ideas with AREAWARE’s creative team. Following a vigorous selection process, final products are chosen for production, fine-tuned, manufactured and then brought to market.
NY NOW is a bi-annual show, open to the trade only, held in New York City’s Jacob Javits Center and on Pier 94. The show attracts over 2,800 exhibitors from all 50 states as well as 80+ countries. AREAWARE exhibits in the Accent on Design section, which is the gift industry’s “standard-bearer for design-driven home and lifestyle merchandise.”
Debuting under the AREAWARE label are designers Alissia Melka-Teichroew, Johannes Molin, and Richard McGuire. “Our products attract people who are looking for quirky, conversation starting gifts with great backstories” says Noel Wiggins, AREAWARE’s President. “Richard McGuire’s Puzzlehead is a perfect example of this. It has an interesting aesthetic, is fun to play with, and great to talk about. Plus, it’s designed by Richard McGuire, a 21st century Renaissance man if there ever was one.”
Other launches include Little Big Trivet by Alissia Melka-Teichroew; Infinite Tree by Johannes Molin; Radio Dock & Horseshoe Magnet by Jonas Damon; Diamond Box, Prism Corkscrew and Sphere Bottle Opener by Fort Standard; Daruma by Paul Loebach; Concrete Small Tape Dispenser by Magnus Pettersen; Cargo Container by Daniel Ballou; and additions to the popular Reality Series by Harry Allen, including new colorways for Bank in the Form of a Pig, Knot Bowl, Coil Bowl, and Box Turtle Box. “Since its launch, Harry’s Bank in the Form of a Pig has been phenomenally successful,” notes Wiggins. “This item is iconic AREAWARE.” Look for the new Fluorescent Pink and limited edition chromed Champagne pigs at NY NOW.
