Walmart, the nation's largest retailer, was awarded a silver for the best use of Twitter in a content marketing program at the Content Marketing Awards. The content professionals behind the award: Indianapolis-based Raidious.

This award says a lot about the digital marketing economy that Indianapolis has established.

This year’s national Content Marketing Awards gave Walmart, the nation’s largest retailer, a silver in the best use of Twitter in a content marketing program category. The awards recognize communication professionals who create content for organizations. The professionals behind Walmart’s award? Indianapolis-based Raidious.

A quick plane ride from Walmart's global headquarters in Bentonville, Ark., the Raidious embedded brand news team has been working with Walmart in real time via their brand newsroom, Raidious Control, for over a year.

“Our team has been working hard, hand in hand with Walmart's Corporate Affairs group, to help people understand the positive impact Walmart makes on society every day,” said Taulbee Jackson, Chief Executive Officer at Raidious. “It's great to see everyone's collaborative efforts recognized, but I am even more proud of the business outcomes we were able to deliver together.”

While each award is based on a set of criteria that is specific to the category, in general, the judges were looking for “informational and entertainment value, quality of writing and display copy, creative use of imagery and typography, and consistency of color palette and style,” according to the Content Marketing Awards' 2013 winners list.

Walmart and Raidious, in competition with the more than 800 entries that were submitted in May of 2013, took home silver honors.

“This just goes to show that the best and brightest aren't all in New York or Chicago, or L.A. or Silicon Valley,” said Craig Lile, who is the Raidious Producer on the Walmart account. “A ‘Fortune 1’ company like Walmart could have worked with anyone on the planet for this, and they chose Raidious. Being recognized at the national level is great for Raidious, but it also says a lot about the digital marketing economy that Indianapolis has established, and the innovation Hoosier firms are delivering every day.”
