Patient Engagement Company Submits Innovative Concept Proposal for Second-Round Review

HealthEd’s first-round submission in the Verizon Powerful Answers Award contest has been selected to continue to Phase II, and submitted today a full proposal of their initial concept. The inspirational contest is offering a total of $10 million in prizes for innovators and companies who develop a proposal that addresses society’s biggest challenges in one of their three Core Focus Categories: Education; Healthcare; or Sustainability using a combination of Verizon’s network, device, and platform technologies.

On the heels of their recent Health Design Challenge win, HealthEd is continuing to display creativeness and innovative thinking in the digital field. Committed to creating a healthier world, HealthEd’s submission in the Healthcare category displays their 25 years of expertise in patient engagement, including education, communication, and health literacy. Combined with Verizon’s technology platform, HealthEd will be part of an initiative to impact countless individuals to be better informed and empower patients to take charge of their health.

HealthEd’s first-round concept idea selected for advancement was a proposed ‘Verizon Healthy Phone Program’ designed to provide health education/health coaching to underserved communities- utilizing mobile technology to connect, inform, and empower patients.

Excited and optimistic about their advancement, Susan Collins, SVP of health education research & development at HealthEd stated, “We’re very fortunate to have been selected to continue onto the next round of the Verizon Powerful Answers contest. In the final phase of the contest, set to kick-off in early October, ten proposals in each of the core areas will be asked to pitch their ideas to a panel of renowned judges.
