DBT Expert Charles Swenson Presents Two-Day Workshop at Clearview Treatment Programs
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) August 14, 2013 -- Because of the challenging nature of treating people with severe emotional dysregulation, it can be difficult to navigate individual Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) therapy sessions effectively.
On Thursday, Sept. 26, and Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, DBT expert Charles Swenson, M.D., will focus on how to navigate the challenges of individual Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
During this two-day workshop, presented by Clearview Treatment Programs and Clearview Women’s Center for Borderline Personality Disorder in Los Angeles, Dr. Swenson will teach participants how to do the following:
1. Set up compelling treatment plans to create a life worth living.
2. Apply DBT’s principles and change strategies.
3. Identify, prevent, and treat DBT therapist burnout.
“Therapists rarely have an opportunity to attend a workshop focused entirely on the challenges of conducting individual DBT sessions,” said Michael Roy, MSW, LCSW, founder and executive director of Clearview Treatment Programs and Clearview Women’s Center. “Dr. Swenson has created a two-day workshop that gives therapists a chance to enhance their DBT practice.”
The workshop is part of Clearview’s Clinical Workshop Series, and is co-sponsored by the Cognitive Behavior Therapy Institute in Beverly Hills, Calif.
