Lake Michigan Mailers, Inc. Makes Five Year Commitment to the Grow SJC Economic Development Program
South Bend, Indiana and Kalamazoo, Michigan (PRWEB) August 15, 2013 -- Lake Michigan Mailers, Inc. announced today that it has made a five year contribution commitment to the St. Joseph County Chamber of Commerce’s Grow SJC Economic Development Program. The Grow SJC Economic Development Program was unveiled earlier this summer by the St. Joseph County Chamber of Commerce, the Lead Economic Development Organization for St. Joseph County, Indiana. The four-year strategy includes plans for business retention and expansion, business attraction, talent recruitment and workforce development, and marketing and communications.
Lake Michigan Mailers is a leading provider of document management, mail assembly, mail processing, presorting, data management, digital marketing and distribution services to companies, schools, colleges and universities, health care providers, governmental entities and organizations throughout the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. The company has been actively involved in economic development activities in the region since the construction of its state-of-the-art data, document, and distribution center in South Bend, Indiana in 2008.
“Our five year commitment to the Grow SJC Economic Development Program is a continuation of our commitment to regional economic development and our dedication to serving the communities in which we work and live,” said David C. Rhoa, president of Lake Michigan Mailers, Inc. “The comprehensive, four-part strategy of the Grow SJC program is what first grabbed our attention. This is so much more than traditional ‘hunting’ for out-of-state economic opportunities; it is a strategy that takes into full account the bountiful resources this region has to offer,” continued Rhoa. “This strategy, coupled with Grow SJC’s cabinet of incredibly talented entrepreneurs and dedicated civic leaders, convinced us that we had to get engaged in this program in a meaningful, long-term manner,” Rhoa concluded.
“We are excited to have Lake Michigan Mailers join our Grow SJC economic development effort,” said Jeff Rea, president and CEO of the St. Joseph County Chamber of Commerce. “We appreciate the company recognizing the need for a clear, strategic, targeted, and measurable approach to economic development. None of us have been satisfied with the amount of growth we've seen in the county, and this program will finally help our county move in the right direction,” said Rea. “Companies like Lake Michigan Mailers have stepped forward and provided great leadership in this effort. We expect those efforts to result in more than 2000 new jobs and 25 new companies for our area, which will provide the local economy a shot in the arm that it needs and help all local businesses,” Rea concluded.
