Crowley Systems Introduces PILOT DMS for Marine and Powersports Dealers
Denver, CO (PRWEB) August 15, 2013 -- Crowley Systems today announced the launch of PILOT DMS, a Dealer Management System (DMS) designed for marine and powersports dealers to help manage inventory operations and conduct dealership transactions. Designed in-house by the Denver-based company, PILOT DMS is build on a hybrid cloud architecture and is the only commercial DMS that features both POS and online-sales functionality, as well as product integration with major manufacturers such as Evinrude, Yamaha, Mercury and Honda.
“We designed PILOT DMS because we couldn’t find a Dealer Management System that was specific to the needs of the marine and powersports industry,” said Paul Crowley, President of Crowley Systems. “Present DMS on the market do not support both retail and online sales, and are bloated with features that our industry doesn’t need.”
PILOT DMS’s unique hybrid cloud architecture means that the systems runs off a lightweight application that is installed on the computer, while intensive data processing and storage is offloaded to high performance, multiple redundant servers around the world. The system features five modules: Inventory Management, Point of Sale, Shopping Cart, Order Fulfillment and External Integration, that can be used concurrently, or flexibly reconfigured to the needs of the organization.
Paul adds: “Each module is integrated with each other, and with external functions such as Credit Card and Paypal transactions and FedEx/UPS rate checking and label printing. The idea was to create a single platform where all the operations of the dealership can be managed and executed seamlessly.”
Crowley Systems’ affiliation with Denver-based boating giant Crowley Marine is no coincidence. PILOT DMS started out as a small project by the owners at Crowley Marine to better integrate their sales and inventory systems, and quickly grew into a comprehensive stand-alone system that managed the entire operations of the 40 year old company. Crowley Systems was eventually set up to focus on the development and deployment of PILOT DMS.
