Corra Group Expands Staff for Employment Screening for Trucking Industry
El Segundo, CA (PRWEB) August 14, 2013 -- Corra Group has expanded its staff to better accommodate the growing employment screening market in the trucking and transportation industry. The additional personnel will assist truckers with their Department of Transportation or DOT compliance standards,
“The trucking industry is in a growth stage,” said Corra Group Co-Founder Nick Gustavson. “With the increase in manufacturing exports and all the activity in the energy industry, there is a big demand for Commercial Drivers.
“We see a lot of startup trucking companies,” said Gustavson. “People from all walks of life are becoming small business owners in the transportation industry. Since DOT Compliance standards can be puzzling we help our clients obtain the necessary background checks that will bring them up to DOT Compliance Standards.”
Gustavson explained that Corra Group has coordinated its random management drug screening program so it’s easier for drivers to be integrated into the system. In addition to drug testing, Corra Group has increased its facility to conduct DOT employment background checks. The expanded service enables trucking firms to use Corra Group as a full service DOT facility. It now offers the Pre-Employment Screening Program made available through the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).
“We also offer Fleet Alert,” said Gustavson. This system will report any driver infractions in near real time. Should a driver have an accident, get a ticket, or have his license suspended, Fleet Alert will report it to the client.”
Gustavson pointed out the tremendous growth in the American energy industry and how truckers are desperately needed for the gas and oil fields. “Trucking companies throughout the country are being contracted to haul everything from parts and equipment to the fuel itself.” said Gustavson. “We saw the driving record on one guy who was driving the big rigs up in North Dakota. He was born in 1936 and there he was working up in the fields.
“To be DOT compliant, you have to do your background checks,” said Gustavson. “Your DOT employment screening package should include Motor Vehicle Driving Records, criminal checks, drug checks, DOT employment verification, and drug tests. The PSP is great for training purposes and we are told it helps maintain certain safety standards. For all this and then some, Corra Group offers a special Trucking Employment Screening Package.
Gustavson believes that the additional staff will assist the trucking industry with their employment industry needs. “There’s enough to keep up with between winning contracts, driving and maintaining trucks, and meeting DOT Compliance standards that the truckers don’t have to worry about how they are getting their background checks.”
