New Men’s Skin Care Company Takes an Innovative Approach to Customer Transparency, Promotions and Giving

(PRWEB) August 16, 2013 -- In today’s world of fast fact-checking and instant information, transparency has become as important for businesses as market differentiation. Axiom For Men, a new men’s hair removal and skin care line, saw that new reality as an opportunity to take a different approach to both.

Since launching in mid-May, the company has differentiated itself by offering innovative and effective products specifically designed for men’s hair removal and skin care needs. They also feel customers value supporting the community just as much as they appreciate a discount. Staying true to its core values, the company opted instead to implement its “Giving is Good For Your Skin” program, donating 5% of every online sale to charity, and giving their customers a voice in what charity that donation benefits. “We wanted to avoid a vague statement about donating “a portion of the proceeds,” where customers don’t know the final outcome,” says Mike Waxman, Sr. Vice President of Marketing. So far, the response has been “extremely positive.”

When it came time for their first company-wide promotion, they took the same new approach. Where traditional retailers offer “sales,” this innovative brand opted not for a discount promotion, but rather a make-it-count promotion. The result is from August 15 through August 31, 2013, AxiomForMen.com’s customers will be able to direct a full 25% of each purchase to the nonprofit they choose. “We want our customers to know if they buy $100 in product, $25 will go to their chosen charity. It’s that simple,” Waxman says.

Waxman also said they wanted this first promotion to make a statement about the essence of their brand and their faith in their customers. “We believe people can be motivated as much by giving as they can be by saving.” It’s that altruistic nature, which has been key to the success of crowd-sourcing ventures worldwide, that Axiom For Men seeks to tap in to for this promotion.

Axiom For Men, a gay-owned company, aims to positively impact the LGBTQ community and its allies financially and empower its customers to participate in how they do that. The pre-selected benefiting organizations their customers may choose from include Athlete Ally, The American Military Partners, The Trevor Project, the Family Equality Council, and The National Center for Transgender Equality. “These five organizations are doing critical work, and we want to support them during this time of unparalleled advancement in LGBTQ rights in this country,” says Waxman.
