Pitney Bowes launches the Envelope Message Calculator
Hatfield, UK (PRWEB UK) 15 August 2013 -- In order to ensure that businesses can maximise the value of their mail, the communications experts at Pitney Bowes have developed the Envelope Message Calculator, a new tool designed to encourage businesses to make significant savings on their franking and printing costs.
The new microsite, which is housed on the Pitney Bowes website, is designed to be used by prospective and existing customers, in conjunction with the Connect+ series of franking machines. The calculator highlights cost savings for businesses that print on their own envelopes, as opposed to buying pre-printed equivalents. Taking into account local currency, cartridge cost, ink volume and maintenance cycles, the tool provides instant cost per impression estimates for all graphical image files that the Connect+ is able to process - calculating the price of printing a client logo or message on an envelope has never been easier.
Recent research from Pitney Bowes that analysed the impact of colour exposed varying perceptions of colour across the UK, France and Germany and highlighted how important it is for brands to consider the use of colour in all communications. An additional poll run by Pitney Bowes* supported the claim that personalisation is seen as the primary driver to increasing openability.
The research also revealed that just 49 per cent of marketers’ communications have some form of graphic on the envelope*, meaning that marketers are not maximising the value of one in two pieces of mail. Making brands stand out is becoming increasingly difficult in a competitive market and it is hoped that the new tool will encourage more SMEs to use colour and additional messaging on their envelopes – a low cost, proven method of increasing openability, which also acts as a marketing tool.
Colin Forrest, Head of Marketing for UK and ROI at Pitney Bowes said, “This simple calculator provides yet more evidence that printing on envelopes using Pitney Bowes’s Connect+ franking machine is significantly cheaper than investing in pre-printed envelopes. Not only that, but the Connect+ range allows customers to print as they need it, preventing surplus envelopes being wasted as a result of bulk buying. Depending on a company’s mail volume, this represents a significant incentive, which is sure to help SMEs’ cash flow.”
Pitney Bowes intends on rolling the tool out in France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland in quarter three, 2013. For a preview of Pitney Bowes’s tool, and further information on the Connect+ series, please visit http://www.PitneyBowes.co.uk/colour .
