Stamford Attorney William M. Davoren Obtains $470,000 Verdict for Client in Auto Accident Case

Davoren represented Dimitrios Stefanidis in Dimitrios Stefanidis v. Sherry M. Black and Francis Black [Superior Court, Stamford-Norwalk District, Connecticut Case # CV08-5006851-S]. According to court documents, the plaintiff was driving his Mercedes sedan on a local highway when he was rear-ended by a vehicle driven by Sherry Black. The defendant had failed to keep a proper lookout and maintain an appropriate distance between the vehicles. Because of the accident, Mr. Stefanidis suffered cervical and lumbar disc herniations and requires future lumbar surgery. His vehicle also sustained significant damage. After one day of deliberations, the jury returned a verdict in Mr. Stefanidis’ favor, awarding $470,000.
The verdict was increased by almost sixty thousand dollars in “offer of compromise” interest, for a final judgment in the amount of $527,685. Judge Robert Genuario presided over the trial in Stamford, Connecticut.
