Michigan Head & Neck Institute is Conducting a School Supplies Drive at Their Facility to Benefit Local Year-Round Elementary School Students
Warren, MI (PRWEB) August 14, 2013 -- Michigan Head & Neck Institute is hosting a school supplies drive to help the children of a local elementary school have everything they need for a wonderful school year. This is the first year that Siersma Elementary School will have year-round attendance, and Michigan Head & Neck Institute wants to ensure the children are well equipped to meet the new school year.
"There are a lot of military families in the area, and we think this is a great way to give back to our community," said Lauren Taylor, Marketing Coordinator at Michigan Head & Neck Institute. She hopes they are able to collect enough new school supplies to really make a difference. "The people at Warren Consolidated Schools that assisted in getting this program going have been wonderful to work with, and make it more than worth the effort," she continued.
From August 13th through August 28th, donations can be dropped off at Michigan Head & Neck Institute between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. They are collecting new items such as wide-ruled spiral notebooks, pencils, crayons, markers, rulers, glue sticks, erasers, and other school supplies typically used in elementary schools.
Michigan Head & Neck Institute is headed by Dr. Richard Klein who exclusively treats TMJ problems and obstructive sleep apnea. Coincidentally, a current trend seen by Dr. Klein is that a lot of teachers from all over Michigan have been coming in for TMJ problems related to stress. "The teachers I see are very passionate, and when they see children struggling it surely wears on them," said Dr. Klein. He hopes the school supplies drive will not only help provide supplies to the children, but also provide reinforcement to the teachers and staff that other organizations in the community recognize and appreciate their efforts. Dr. Klein devotes time to lecture at St. John Hospitals and even the TACOM base where many of the local military families work. Michigan Head & Neck Institute has been at their current location for 28 years and are constantly looking for ways to give back to their community.
