Western & Southern Tennis Masters Tickets: Cheap Concert Tickets Has Slashed Pricing on All Remaining Western & Southern Tennis Masters ATP & WTA Sessions in Cincinnati
Cincinnati, OH (PRWEB) August 14, 2013 -- The Western & Southern Tennis Masters Pro Open in Cincinnati, Ohio may have started last weekend, but there is still time to catch up on all of the action. The event has already seen its share of exciting and unforgettable moments and organizers are hoping for more of the same through August 18th at the Lindner Family Tennis Center. What have been some of the highlights through the first half of the event and what stars are still hoping to take home the trophy on Sunday?
Everyone in attendance was witness to outlandish behavior from Fabio Fognini. On Monday, Fognini was playing Radek Stepanek and lost 6-2, 6-4. It wasn't unbelievable that he lost, but it was remarkable to many watching how he did so. While trailing 4-5 in the final set, he double faulted twice in a row to fall to 0-30. He then hit the ball out of the court, which led to a code violation and since it was his second violation to be given to him, he was given a point penalty and fell to 0-40. He then stepped on the service line, double faulted and lost.
The likelihood of that occurring again at this tournament isn't great, but the Western Southern Tennis Open brought some of the best players in the world to Ohio. Maria Sharapova – the third seed in Cincinnati – was upset by Sloane Stephens 2-6, 7-5 (5), 6-3, ending her run in the ATP event in the second round. While Sharapova may be on her way to the next ATP event, there are still numerous top stars that are making tickets sell for.
Novak Djokovic – The Serbian born player is the top tennis player in the world according to the ATP and has been the No. 1 player at the end of each of the past two seasons. The 26-year-old has 37 career titles, an Olympic Bronze medal and is coming into this tournament as the top seed.
Roger Federer – The 32-year-old legend is currently the fifth best player on the ATP tour and while his record-run of being the No. 1 player in the world isn't occurring right now, he can still win tournaments and is still a threat to any challenger. He has 77 career titles, which is third best in the Open era.
Rafael Nadal – Currently ranked No. 3 by the ATP, the Spaniard appears to have a lot of fight left in his career. He has 58 career titles and at 27, has a chance to add to his total for years to come.
Victoria Azarenka – Azarenka is the second seed in this event and is currently ranked as the second best female player in the world. She has 16 WTA tournament titles and has already advanced to the third round.
Serena Williams – Williams is the top seed in this event and will play her first match against Eugenie Bouchard, a Canadian that advanced through the qualifying round. Williams is the top ranked female player in the world and is looking to add to her 54 career wins.
