IPEVO Releases the IS-01 Interactive Whiteboard System; Two-Piece System Turns Any Flat Surface Into an Interactive Whiteboard
Sunnyvale, CA (PRWEB) August 15, 2013 -- Education technology manufacturer and designer IPEVO has announced the release of its newest product, the IS-01 Interactive Whiteboard System. Intended for educators in the classroom but also appropriate in business settings, IS-01 allows remote control and annotation for projected images, turning most any surface into an interactive whiteboard. The Interactive Whiteboard System is made up of two primary devices: a small Sensor Cam, which connects to PC or Mac via USB, and a handheld Interactive Pen. When properly mounted and calibrated — which takes a couple of simple steps via included calibration software — the Sensor Cam detects infrared signals from the Interactive Pen, and then translates those signals into cursor movements and mouse clicks. In this way, an educator can stand beside a computer screen projected by a projector, and then control applications using the Interactive Pen.
A wide variety of applications can be controlled in this manner, in addition to control of the basic operating system. Left clicks, right clicks, double-clicks, and click and drags are all possible by either depressing the Pen's contact-sensitive tip, or by pressing a button on the Pen's shaft. Included stickers allow the Sensor Cam to be mounted firmly to a table or projector, or to be mounted to the ceiling. And a long Pen Extension Wand can be attached to the Pen for larger and higher screen surfaces.
Additionally, included IPEVO Annotator software provides a basic drawing toolkit for teachers to annotate on top of the projected image in real time. This includes freehand drawing, lines and shapes in a variety of line thicknesses and colors. In this manner, in true interactive whiteboard fashion, educators may emphasize and clarify their digital teaching material and lessons.
