Vintage Concert Poster Buyer Announces His Search For 1950s and 1960s Rock N Roll Globe Concert Posters
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) August 16, 2013 -- Vintage concert poster buyer, Andrew Hawley seeks 1950s and 1960s rock n roll Globe Concert Posters. Globe Posters of Baltimore was a leading printer of the top Motown, blues and rock n roll concert posters. According to Hawley, "Globe made original 22x28 inch cardboard concert posters for the leading American blues, jazz or rock n roll acts. Globe got its start printing movie and boxing posters in the 1920s. They printed “boxing style” posters with large block text and bright colors so they could be seen from a distance and attract the eye. The posters were printed on thick cardboard so they could be nailed telephone poles and displayed in local establishments to advertise the upcoming shows. The Baltimore Civic Center had its share of top rock n roll acts like Janis Joplin, the Doors and Jimi Hendrix and the Experience. Many 1950s R&B and blues acts played there such as Otis Redding, Sam Cooke and BB King. Buddy Holly and the Biggest Show of Stars played this venue in 1957. Most of the concert posters for these shows were printed by Globe."
Hawley will pay $3,000 cash for any original 1950s or 1960s rock n roll, blues or Motortown revue concert posters printed by Globe and competor printers of the day. Any condition would be accepted. Please call 310-346-1965 or email andrew(at)vintageconcertposterbuyer(dot)com.
