Designed to inspire high school students to start planning ahead for their careers in fashion and design, FashionClub.com launched their 6th Annual Jumpstart Your Dreams Contest in which students enter to win career-themed prize packs in five areas. The deadline to enter the contest is September 30, 2013.
Entrants are asked to create a Pinterest board centered around his or her dream career. Students are prompted to think about career options in the creative industries such as a fashion designer, beauty industry executive, fashion stylist, buyer, and interior designer. Each career path is mapped to one of the majors offered at FIDM: Fashion Design, Beauty Industry Merchandising & Marketing, Visual Communications, Merchandise Marketing, and Interior Design.
Pins can include clothing and accessories that would be appropriate to wear to work at their dream job, products and software that might be used on the job, images of places in which one might live or travel for work, inspiring quotes, and/or logos of successful brands and employers for which they aspire to work.
The prizes this year include a Brother sewing machine, gift cards for shopping sprees, beauty products, design books, and furniture, totalling over $1500 in value. High school students can enter the contest at FashionClub.com. Five lucky winners will be notified on or about October 15, 2013.
