Investors in People (IiP) is the UK's leading people management standard, designed to drive business performance. The roadshow truck tour provider first attained the award in 2004, reaching Silver standard in 2010.
EMS is among only 3% of IiP organisations to have achieved this level, which involves meeting 76 additional evidence requirements above the standard award.
Keith Austin, chief executive at EMS said: “This achievement is testament to our commitment to best practice. Our people are our best asset, continually working hard to make the business the success it is today. We’re a small business with big company values, and to be in the top 3% IiP organisations is a fantastic accomplishment.
“Over the years this award has been intrinsic to our people management strategy and a key driver in our company’s development and growth. As we strengthen our capabilities internationally the IiP will become even more valuable. ”
As part of the IiP assessment the entire people management process at EMS was reviewed, involving 18 staff from across the business who took part in interviews.
The IiP assess summarised EMS as: “An example of an organisation which, even when faced with significant changes to its industry sector, has moved further towards embracing proven approaches to good management.”
