Proxy Sites for Facebook Challenged by New Facebook Proxy List
Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) August 18, 2013 -- After testing several proxy technologies and settings on Facebook, idcloak launches what the firm believes is the most effective free Facebook unblocking tool available: a list of low-anonymity IP proxies supporting secure connections.
What some might see as a very simple alternative to proxy sites for Facebook has in fact outperformed its website-based cousins in almost all areas; especially site compatibility and ease of login.
“Using IP proxies is not as difficult as one might think at first glance,” says idcloak's Robin Welles, “users shouldn't be put off by the list of numerical data.”
Instead of connecting to a proxy web address, the user enters the proxy IP address into their browser’s settings and accesses the server directly. The unblocking then occurs behind the scenes and with no further user interaction required.
Welles explains why the company moved from recommending its own website proxy to third-party IP proxies, “Our own proxy bypass website is basically too anonymous. This means that when a user accesses Facebook on our proxy website, the social media site’s security mechanisms kick in and demand the user prove their identity. This is a hassle. And then there is the fact that proxy sites only display Facebook in its downgraded mobile version. These two factors led us to experiment with other unblockers – we tried out different types of IP proxies until we settled on the perfect proxy for Facebook login and use. That is what you have in this list.
“The best Facebook logon proxies are low-anonymity. This means the user may still bypass content filters while also telling Facebook's security mechanisms, ‘Hey, it’s me – no need to worry.’ Then, the content downloaded from Facebook is protected by HTTPS so that the censors aren’t able to spot that unblocking is going on.”
idcloak takes little personal gain from the proxy list since users need only visit the idcloak site if they wish to change IP proxy – which is rare, “We do what we can to help users find free solutions. We will take business only from those who can afford to pay for an unblocking service.”
