First Community Credit Union and The Houston Texans have teamed up for their third annual “Stars in the Classroom” program. The program kicks off on August 19th accepting nominations for teachers who are Stars in their Classroom. All of the winning and deserving teachers will be awarded football tickets, sideline passes, a $500 donation to the school district, an autographed jersey, and a visit to their classroom from Houston Texans linebacker Brian Cushing! The nominating student will receive an autographed Houston Texans football. Cushing will make his first classroom appearance in late September.
“Houston is fortunate to have strong teachers that help students realize their potential and reach their goals,” First Community Credit Union President and CEO Ron Downing said.
The “Stars in the Classroom” program will honor ten exemplary teachers and the impact they make on our future. The teachers are nominated by students and parents. There is also an end of the year banquet held at Reliant Stadium where each teacher is recognized. For details on how to nominate a teacher, go to http://www.TexansChecking.com/.
FCCU started out as a credit union for teachers and they have been an avid supporter of education for over 59 years. First Community is the Official Credit Union of the Houston Texans and Home of Brian Cushing.
