Typhoon or no typhoon, the WSA @ Magic Shoe Exhibition must go on.
Hong Kong, China (PRWEB) August 17, 2013
As Typhoon Utor, the largest South-East Asian storm of the year, devastated the Philippines, international shoe brands with their fall-winter season creations heading from China shoe factories for Las Vegas, Nevada and the WSA @ Magic Shoe Show watched in panic as Utor headed for Hong Kong.
As the typhoon approached, airfreight flights from Hong Kong were suddenly cancelled at the very moment their cargo of new designer shoes should have been heading for the grand opening of America’s largest shoe presentation and buying event, WSA @ Magic.
"Two of our shoe brand clients were caught with important shipments waiting for plans to take off," said Winnie Peng of http://www.Shoe-Manufacturer.com, "and I was assured by the shippers that other international designer’s creations were caught by the storm as well.
"New creations from Haus Van Lila™, http://www.shophausvonlila.com/ whose thigh-high sandal, "Dogma" is scheduled to star on TV’s Project Runway later this month, barely made it out in time to make the set up day for the WSA @ Magic Shoe Show event, a close call as buyers from all over the country will be coming to see these dramatic designs."
"Even more precarious is the shipment of Stepp Pretty Shoe Glovez™, the patented decorative shoe covers invented by gold medallist Gwendolyn Rolle, founder of The Slip-Ons Collection http://stepppretty.com/."
"We have been working with Rolle for months on new upgrades, colors and styles for this award winning product set to debut at the WSA @ Magic Show this weekend but as of Thursday, UPS hasn’t yet confirmed that the arrival will be in time for the show."
Typhoon Utor is a good example of the unexpected problems that can delay important shipments at the last minute resulting in tragic loss of business for many and a testament to getting manufacturing orders in much earlier that might be thought necessary to avoid costly problem situations.
As for the WSA @ Magic Exhibition, whether some of the stars are missing or not, typhoon or no typhoon, "The Shoe-Show Must Go On!"
