AlertSystems Respond to CCTV of Replica Civil War Helmet Theft
(PRWEB UK) 23 August 2013 -- According to ITV News, the CCTV shows an image of a man who the police are looking to speak to following the theft.
The helmet was stolen from the reception area of the Victoria Hotel in Robin Hoods Bay in Whitby on July 18 at approximately 11am. On release of the image, police have described the man featured in the CCTV footage as white, between 4ft and 4ft 6in tall and with short brown hair which is thinning at the front. Police, who believe that the man is from Dorset, have urged witnesses to come forward.
PC Neil Graham, from Whitby Safer Neighbourhood Team, released a statement to ITV News:
“If you are the man in the CCTV and you are not responsible for this theft, I urge you to come forward so that I can eliminate you from my enquiries. I also need to speak to anyone who can help to identify the man or may have been offered the helmet for sale, and ask them to contact me straight away.”
Specialists in CCTV for businesses, AlertSystems are aware of the importance of a CCTV security system in your business. A representative for the firm offered their comments:
“Reception areas in establishments such as hotels often have ornaments or objects on display, and although the area can be subject to high levels of footfall, it can still be vulnerable to crimes such as thefts. Installing CCTV to cover this location means that, if a crime does occur, information can be passed to police which can help further their investigations.”
