SACHEM Launching High Purity, Quaternary Ammonium Salt for the Polymer, Electronics and Specialty Markets
Austin, Texas (PRWEB) August 21, 2013 -- SACHEM N416 is a mildly basic organic salt that can be used as catalyst, curing agent, and initiator in the polymer industry. This highly pure quaternary ammonium salt is a dry solid (low water) solution for the Polymer, Electronics and Specialty Markets. Acrylics, polyesters, silicon and polyurethanes are among the classes of polymers in which N416 would be of good use.
SACHEM N416 is tetrabutylammonium acetate complex and contains very low water and is virtually absent of metals and halides. SACHEM’s process expertise allows for the preparation of a tetrabutylammonium acetate complex that does not absorb atmospheric water as readily as other tetrabutylammonium acetate products, thus allowing for easy handling on a commercial scale while maintaining catalytic activity. As a fine powder, it is more readily dispersed in polymer master batches, and dissolves quickly in many organic solvents. The versatility of this organic salt has been demonstrated in diverse non-polymer applications as well – from quenchers in Chemically Amplified Photoresists, to soluble bases in Sonogashira and Heck couplings.
"SACHEM’s N416 has a vast array of applications. We are pleased to provide unique high purity product and be the industry’s leading experts for highly functional organic salts manufacturing. Our innovative process knowhow allows us to prepare unique catalysts for markets with demanding performance and purity requirements," stated Armin Buhling, Marketing Manager Polymers, SACHEM Europe.
