Maryland Heights Convention and Visitors Bureau to Host New Extreme Water Sports Festival Featuring 50 World-Class Waterski and Wakeboard Athletes
St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) August 22, 2013 -- Saturday September 14, Creve Coeur Park (Maryland Heights, MO) will play host to Midwest NightFly, an extreme watersports festival, The first of its kind, the two worlds of extreme watersports featuring the high impact of long distance waterski jumping and ‘big air’ wakeboarding collide together under illuminated stadium lighting. This event will feature all types of watersports disciplines including extreme waterski jumping, wakeboarding, a floating cable wakeboard park, extreme barefooting, flyboarding, show skiing, and more…
This inaugural Midwest NightFly festival brings a unique weekend of entertainment for the entire family to St. Louis. There will be featured kids zones, zipline adventure course, rock-climbing walls, live music, food, drinks and more. While enjoying all the entertainment the family will have the opportunity to witness more than 50 of the best athletes around the world take to Creve Coeur Park, St. Louis’s iconic lake park, to compete under a extreme format never before seen. While during the day all types of watersports disciplines will be showcased, it is at night when the main event draws excitement. Some of the world’s elite waterski jumpers and wakeboarders soar through the air up to 200 feet and at speeds nearing 80 mph while trying to see who can put on the best aerial demonstration.
Tickets for Saturday’s main event are only $5. There will be clinics offered on Sunday for anyone interested in learning how to waterski and wakeboard, or who want to try out the cable park.
