"It’s great to have the ability to preserve the beauty of the hand crafted floors that we manufacture, and know that it will stand the tests of yearly wear and tear," says Danny Chen, Vice President of Product Development

ForeverTuff™ hardwood flooring has been put through the flooring industry gamut and stands to be one of the toughest floors to take on everyday foot traffic. One of the biggest criticisms of hardwood flooring is that it can’t take the beating that most hard surface floors can. Some wood species hold up better than others, but overall most know that hardwood is not going to hold up like tile. However, the look of a natural wood floor is impossible to replicate. The warmth and romance it brings to a room and the story that the floor tells being grown, cultivated, and cut down makes hardwood the most desired flooring surface above all other options. Johnson Hardwood made it a mission to manufacture a hardwood floor that not only looks beautiful but with a finish that can take a beating.

The ForeverTuff™ hardwood flooring product line is made up of a wide assortment of wood species. Each species hardness differs from the other. What Johnson Hardwood managed to perfect is the finish. A 17-step aluminum oxide finish is the strength behind ForeverTuff™. The additional benefit is that the finish does not cloud the look of the floor. “We wanted to create a floor that would be a feasible option for those who have dogs, an active family, or even for commercial use while preserving the natural look of the hardwood floor”, says Vice President of Product Development Danny Chen. “We take a lot of pride in our sourcing of the right wood for our products. Grain patterns and the way the wood absorbs the stains are all considered while we source our materials. It took some time to develop a surface finish that would not distort the color and patterns of the natural wood grains. The product development team is really pleased with the ForeverTuff™ product line. It’s great to have the ability to preserve the beauty of the hand crafted floors we manufacture, and know that it will stand the tests of yearly wear and tear. Even in a commercial environment.” To confirm ForeverTuff's™ durability, an industry wear and scuff test known as the Taber Abrasion test has documented that ForeverTuff is able to withstand 2200 rotations being well above industry standards.

Moderately priced and engineered for easy installation there isn’t much that was not thought of when the ForeverTuff™ product line was put together. Hardwood flooring customers have the choice of exotic and domestic woods including Oak, Walnut, Maple, Santos Mahogany, Tigerwood, Brazilian Cherry, Patagonian Rosewood and Hickory. The variety of wood stains and grain patterns makes finding the perfect floor easy. Plus the 4-3/4 inch wide planks make for a handsome flooring pattern.
