POS Nation Appoints New CEO to Guide Next Growth Phase
Charlotte, NC (PRWEB) August 21, 2013 -- POS Nation (posnation.com), a leading provider of point of sale systems, announced the selection of Cort Ouzts as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer. The appointment of Mr. Ouzts further signifies POS Nation’s shift in strategy as the company continues to expand its emphasis on customer service.
At twenty-nine, Mr. Ouzts joins the growing ranks of young professionals in the Charlotte community. Having previously worked in the Queen City in investment banking and private equity, Mr. Ouzts was eager to return to Charlotte after earning his MBA from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business.
"I met with POS Nation's Board and began discussing the idea of joining the company in the winter of 2012," commented Mr. Ouzts. "After learning more about the opportunity, I saw a company with enormous potential and strong ties to the local community. Admittedly it’s not the standard post-MBA, post-investment banking track, but I couldn’t pass on this opportunity. I'm thrilled to be joining the team."
"We’re excited about the level of professionalism and energy that Cort brings to POS Nation," commented POS Nation’s Chairman, Luke Tashie. "Cort and I previously worked together in a separate venture, and when the board met to discuss candidates, there was simply no other individual that matched the attributes we were seeking. He’s young, but he brings a breadth of business experience to the table, and more importantly, he shares our vision of differentiating POS Nation through customer service and support."
When asked what contributions he could immediately make to the company, Mr. Ouzts responded, "More than anything, I bring a fresh perspective to the business – a new lens to view the operations through. One of the first things I told the team was that ‘because we’ve always done it that way’ was not an acceptable answer to any question. We’re reassessing our internal processes, and through that self-evaluation, we’ve already identified areas we need to improve upon in order to grow the business. Customer service is great example. We previously provided good support, but we need to provide exceptional support 100% of the time to earn the trust of our customers.”
As to areas where he saw the most growth, Mr. Ouzts responded, "POS systems and the POS industry as a whole have undergone significant changes recently with the advent of tablet- and mobile-based point of sale systems. This evolution marks an incredible opportunity. But beyond that, I’m focusing on growing our presence in the local Charlotte market. We’re now providing onsite installation and support for all local customers. If you’re opening a business, we’ll be by your side for your first day of operations to ensure your system is running smoothly."
And the best idea he’s had so far? "That one’s easy. FLA’s – or Friday Lunch Adventures. When our sales team meets its weekly goal, we take the team out to lunch to one of the local restaurants we serve. It’s really a win-win for everyone and a great way to generate excitement and energy around the office."
In addition to an MBA from UVA’s Darden School of Business, Mr. Ouzts also holds a BS from Georgia Tech’s College of Management.
