Shea Custom Completes Custom Home in Historic Myers Park Neighborhood of Charlotte, NC
Charlotte, NC (PRWEB) August 22, 2013 -- Shea Custom (http://www.sheacustom.com) just completed a successful demolition of an older home in the historic Myers Park neighborhood of Charlotte, NC. In its footprint is a new custom home by Shea Custom; it aesthetically blends in with the surrounding homes but provides the homeowners with a brand new custom home without having to change their address.
When the homeowners approached Shea Custom for an estimate on the extensive home renovations they had designed with an architect, Shea Custom quickly realized it wouldn’t take much more of a budget to remove the existing older home and replace it with a brand new home. When the homeowners looked at the estimate and realized what they would get for the additional fee…brand new roof, plumbing, electrical, fresh landscaping, modern building codes and energy efficiency, nine foot ceilings in lieu of eight, and more, they quickly saw the benefit of a new custom home instead of renovating.
The architectural plans were easily modified for a full build, and demolition only took seven days. When construction on the new home was completed five months later, Myers Park was graced with an elegant home. A curved portico with upper deck greets visitors; it is flanked by twin bay windows with stately metal roofing. Inside, the homeowners selected modern, urban light fixtures to accent their hardwood floors and the trendy, monochromatic color scheme of the kitchen. This theme continues to the Owner’s Bath, with Carrera marble floors, chocolate colored cabinets and granite countertops. A double-sided floating gas fireplace shares a wall with the Family room and Owner’s Suite.
Charlie O’Melveny, Director of Operations at Shea Custom, commented, “My first home here in North Carolina was in Dilworth near the Myers Park area. I have always appreciated the mature trees and wonderful architecture. It was a great experience in keeping true to the Myers Park area by building this custom home and ensuring it fit in with the surrounding neighborhood.”
This custom home in Myers Park wrapped up with over 3,900 square feet of heated living space, including four and a half bathrooms, five bedrooms, Bonus Room, two formal rooms, deck, two car garage and a huge unfinished basement with great potential.
