ONEHOPE Wine Expands Into First National Retailer Whole Foods Market®
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) August 22, 2013 -- ONEHOPE Wine, one of the most popular cause-centric wine brands in America, will debut its first national expansion into Whole Foods Market this September. Produced in partnership with Rob Mondavi, Jr., ONEHOPE Wine will launch two labels of its most popular varietals, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon, and will donate half of profits from each bottle to make a social impact. This will be ONEHOPE’s first expansion into a national retailer since its inception in 2007.
"This is the first time ONEHOPE has launched nationally with a retailer, and we could not be more inspired that it is with Whole Foods Market – a company whose people and mission are so aligned with ours when it comes to providing great products, exceptional experience and weaving in a greater purpose along the way,” said Jake Kloberdanz, CEO of ONEHOPE. “We are happy to introduce our brand to customers and loyal supporters of Whole Foods, and we are confident that they will be fans of ONEHOPE too. Our team did everything possible to over-deliver on quality in the bottle, packaging, and social impact made with the sale of these exclusive wines.”
Featured wines available at Whole Foods Market include:
- ONEHOPE Chardonnay has aromas of soft melon, delicate oak and tropical fruit. Balanced acidity and flavors of ripe pear and crisp apple are preceded by warm vanilla notes and finished with a sweet honeysuckle and floral essence. Retail Price: $10.99
- ONEHOPE Cabernet Sauvignon displays hues of rich cherry and violet. Tantalizing aromas of blackberry and plum are married with a hint of vanilla from aging in both American and French oak. Flavors of blueberry, black currant and warm spice are accompanied by a smooth tannic finish that is integrated with semi-sweet chocolate nuances. Retail Price: $10.99
“The quality of the wine paired with the great cause it supports made these ONEHOPE wines an obvious fit for Whole Foods Market,” said Doug Bell, global wine buyer for Whole Foods Market.
In line with Doug’s statement – Whole Foods Market’s expert on Conscious Capitalism and co-CEO, John Mackey, has historically stated – “You cannot build a good society solely on the basis of self interest.” ONEHOPE and Whole Foods Market’s commitment to quality wine is as strong as its commitment to the causes it supports. The goal of this partnership is to fund approximately 200 micro-loans to help alleviate poverty in the developing world. To achieve this, ONEHOPE will donate half of the profits from the sales of these wines to support mircolending efforts.
Started by a group of young entrepreneurs, the motivation behind ONEHOPE Wine began as a personal mission to help a friend with her fight against cancer; it evolved into a thriving business that always remains focused on a basic, but compelling principle: giving back is good business. The mission was to create a quality wine that donates to worthy causes year-round, with no caps and no end dates.
