Cable Providers have a unique opportunity to improve the subscriber experience and realize increased revenue from better management of their existing bandwidth.

ZCorum, a leading provider of managed broadband services and diagnostics for cable, telco, wireless and fiber broadband providers, in conjunction with the National Cable Television Cooperative, announced today that it will host an exclusive educational webinar for NCTC members on August 22, 2013 at 4:00 PM Eastern Standard Time. The webinar entitled “How to Profit from Skyrocketing Bandwidth” will provide broadband operators with best practices for managing their existing bandwidth with a focus on increasing operator revenue while reducing subscriber churn.

Broadband revenue for Cable operators has been squeezed as bandwidth use by the average subscriber has grown significantly, while revenue per subscriber has remained relatively flat. Operators are looking for solutions that will allow them to fairly charge for those subscribers who are using the most of their resources, as well as ways to moderate congestion during peak hours, which can help increase overall customer satisfaction and delay future bandwidth upgrades.

Bob Hunt, noted broadband industry expert, will be one of the speakers and will help define the problem and potential solutions. Mr. Hunt moderated a panel at The Independent Show last month on a similar topic. He will be joined in the Webinar by ZCorum Vice Presidents, Rick Yuzzi and Neal Grillot. ZCorum recently launched a new bandwidth management tool called Bandwidth Commander at The Independent Show.

According to Grillot, Bandwidth Commander gives cable providers the accurate usage data they need to make decisions about bandwidth management policies, and can then enforce those policies via Packetcable Multimedia. “The way people are using their broadband connection has changed dramatically the last few years, and that will continue as more subscribers stream more content to more devices—content that they used to watch on traditional TV. Cable Providers have a unique opportunity to improve the subscriber experience as well as realize increased revenue from better management of their existing bandwidth. As we’ve seen at ZCorum, a better managed network can be an incredible win-win for everyone.”

In this 60-minute webinar attendees will:

  •     Learn how to reduce costs by managing peak bandwidth usage
  •     Explore new ways to increase revenue by changing subscriber behavior
  •     Discover how to improve the customer experience with better bandwidth allocation

The webinar will take place on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. ET and will include a presentation followed by a question-and-answer session. NCTC members who are interested in attending can register by clicking the link below.
