Food, art and music will abound at the 38th Annual Red River Revel Arts Festival, Oct. 5-12, in downtown Shreveport, Louisiana’s Festival Plaza. Known as north Louisiana’s largest outdoor arts festival, the Red River Revel attracts more than 180,000 visitors to enjoy live music featuring national headline performers, “Homegrown” Louisiana favorites, and local and regional talent from throughout the region.
This year’s list of entertainment headliners includes living legends, rising stars and breakout artists from a variety of musical genres. Don’t miss incredible performances by Black Violin (10/5), Trout Fishing in America (10/5-7), Eric Lindell (10/5), Preservation Hall Jazz Band (10/6), The Blind Boys of Alabama (10/7), The Hunts (10/8-9), Sol Driven Train (10/6,8,12), Colton Dixon (10/9), Locash Cowboys (10/10), Arrested Development (10/11) and Love and Theft (10/12). Opening Saturday, preceded by performances by award-winners Trout Fishing in America and Black Violin, “Homegrown” Louisiana favorites will take over the Chase Entertainment Stage. Irene & the Sleepers, Shayliff, Lions May Cry, Superwater Sympathy, and Eric Lindell will rock out with Revelers ‘til closing time. Local favorites returning to entertain and energize the crowds throughout the eight-day festival include Windstorm Band, Cody Cooke & the Bayou Outlaws, Alive By Sunrise, Total Choice, Professor Porkchop & the Dirty Dishes, Landry & Company, Black Water Bride, Nuns with Guns, The Roscoes, Will Maranto, Grammy nominee Buddy Flett, Airheart, and many more. For their Red River Revel debut, the Louisiana Army National Guard Rock Band will take the stage on Saturday, October 12; this is a show you won’t want to miss, full of energy and harmony. Talented regional performers include Uncle Lucius, Dusty Rose Band, Left Arm Tan, Lauren Alexander, Babineaux Sisters, Tyler Lenius, and more.
In addition to the vast array of musical talents, the Revel invites you to celebrate and appreciate local performing arts troupes as they entertain crowds at the Eldorado Performing Arts Depot Stage both Saturdays, Oct. 5 and Oct. 12. Performers will showcase a broad range of talents including a variety of dance genres, martial arts demonstrations, and even gymnastics.
The Red River Revel has garnered considerable national recognition through the years. It is ranked as one of the Top 10 Events in Louisiana by Top Events USA, one of the Top 100 Fine Arts Festivals in the United States by Sunshine Artist Magazine, an official AAA Southern Traveler "Travel Treasure,” and a Top 20 Event in the Southeast by the Southeast Tourism Society.
