Heart Foundation Helps Raise Women's Heart Health Awareness With Go Red For Women Breakfasts.
(PRWEB) August 27, 2013 -- New Zealand women are being invited to help the Heart Foundation fight women’s heart disease by attending their Go Red for Women breakfast on September 6.
The Go Red for Women campaign is raising funds for much needed research into women’s heart disease.
The fundraising breakfast will be held at five locations across the country and will feature a great line up of speakers.
Nadia Lim, the Good Food Cook, will provide healthy cooking demonstrations at the breakfasts.
Local heart specialists will give helpful tips on how to love your heart and also talk about how heart disease affects women differently to men.
Go red for Women Patron and heart attack survivor Dame Jenny Shipley will speak about her experiences at the Auckland and Ashburton breakfasts.
Tickets are $55 per person or $500 for a table and include a heart healthy breakfast.
“About 48 women die every week from heart disease in New Zealand making it a matter close to all our hearts,” says Auckland Heart Health advocate Naadira Desai.
“Too often women think of heart disease as being a man’s disease but this is not the case,” she says.
Women are also being encouraged to hold their own Go Red fundraising effort to help support the worthy cause.
