H Squared First in the UK to use Leap Motion Gesture Control Technology
(PRWEB) August 23, 2013 -- H Squared are proud to be the first in the UK market to use Leap Motion gesture control technology. This recent development will allow retailers to showcase information to consumers in a more accurate way than in-store technology has in the past. Based in San Francisco, Leap Motion have developed the gesture control technology for both personal and professional use.
Combined with the power of retail design companies, gesture control technology has the potential to enhance consumer experience in store and reinvent retail. H Squared already have working examples of how the technology can work for the sector, including a carousel style on-screen catalogue for Phones4U. This catalogue is available for customers to use in store to browse a selection of products and find out more information about them in a compact and easily accessible way.
Primarily an app-based product, Leap Motion have launched their own app store, Airspace. The apps here are all user friendly and designed to be used with the gesture control technology, meaning optimal control. Unlike other app stores, Airspace apps can be used on any operating system with a monitor, meaning that there are no additional purchases are required.
The device is fitted with dual infrared cameras, the device is attached to the front of a monitor via USB and allows the user to control the display by simply making hand gestures in front of the screen. Specially designed to only detect hand and finger motions, the technology is so accurate it can detect movements as small as 0.01mm.
H Squared look forward to seeing gesture control technology grow in the UK and widen the possibilities for in-store consumer technology in the world of retail design.
