Bryant Security Corporation checks-in midweek, to update South Florida with back to school safety tips to keep in mind.

Protecting Miami since 1985

We are only a few days in, but many schools have reported a smooth transition from summer to school year.

It’s officially the first week of school for many South Floridian students. With 345,000 students and over 40,000 school employees in Miami-Dade alone, residents have already experienced extra traffic, extra pedestrians and hopefully extra safety precautions. Miami security company, Bryant Security, revisits back to school safety with south Florida residents and schools by offering some tips to keep in mind.

In preparation for each school year, Bryant Security meets with school administrators and staff members throughout various South Florida schools. These routine meetings cover important safety and security issues such as school violence, reduction of safety risks, and bullying. “Back to school for us means readdressing security protocols and conducting security trainings. It’s high energy at the beginning of each school year, and its important to reiterate basic safety protocols with the staff and administration,” says Shay Ben-David, President of Bryant Security. The Miami private security company is currently meeting and training teachers and staff in various schools throughout the county. Mr. Ben-David mentions they are conducting tactical lock-down drills, which are a regular routine to assure everyone involved knows exactly what to do during emergency situations.

“We are only a few days in, but many schools have reported a smooth transition from summer to school year,” mentions Rene Zerquera, Operations Manager at Bryant Security. “Lets keep it that way!” Rene says its important to be aware of school zones, expect police to be looking for speeders and strictly enforcing traffic laws in these school zone areas, especially crosswalks, and around school buses stopped to load or unload students. Speeding in a school zone? Get caught going more than 30 mph over the limit and the fines double to $555.50. Mr. Zerquera has created a list of safety tips to keep in mind as the school year progresses:

-Know designated bus stop. Be accompanied by a parent until the bus leaves.
-Create a meeting place with parents. Always be at that spot, and keep cell phones on.
-For parents dropping kids off, don’t leave purse unattended in the drop off lane. Keep it close at all times.
-Give driving through school zones and car pools full attention. No cell phone use.
-Use crossing guards.
-Use the buddy system.
-Don’t accept rides home from strangers, no matter what.

Bryant Security Corporation encourages South Floridians to pay extra attention while driving through school zones. Be aware of pedestrians, bicyclists, skateboarders, and other drivers. Slow down and stay off the cell phone and resist texting. No text or call is worth creating an accident or injuring others.
