Poetry Inspired by 50th Anniversary of March on Washington

The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF) in partnership with its Avoice Virtual Library Project, Busboys & Poets and the DC Poetry Festival will pay special tribute in honor of the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom.

To commemorate the anniversary of that historical day, from 9-11 p.m., Aug. 28, Busboys & Poets will host a themed open mic focused on civil rights at the 5th & K Street NW location. All spoken word performed that night will be dedicated to the movement. Scheduled poets for the evening include Dwayne B and Denice Frohman.

The cover charge for the event is $5. For more information, please visit http://www.busboysandpoets.com. Follow CBCF and Busboys and Poets on Twitter and join the conversation using #speakhistory #MOW50.
