2013 Sketch Comedy Championships

We plan on giving 110%, taking what we have in our hearts and bringing it out there on the field. We aren't interested in playing Monday morning quarterback so we plan on leaving it all out on there on the gridiron. This is a football game, right?

The 6th Annual International Sketch Comedy Championships is taking place on Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at 8:45 PM at Triad Stage 72 and will be featuring some of the world’s best sketch comedy groups who will compete to win the coveted title which will entitle the winning group to a wide array of career-making opportunities. Sandwich will be one of the international sketch comedy groups competing.

Sandwich all met at the People's Improv Theater. Rich Templeton, Eitan Levine and David Frasure were members of a 10k house team called "Milhaus" that performed together for a year. Eitan and David were on a previous 10k team "DeWolf Hopper" together so they had been performing/collaborating regularly together for around 2 years before Sandwich started. The "trio" worked well together and decided to form the team in Summer 2012 and added Peter Velez shortly after.
Due to previous commitments the team didn't consistently meet until early 2013. They put together their first show "Sandwich: The Full Reuben" and was quickly asked to perform at several other shows. Sandwich's plans for the near future include working towards a second NEW hour of sketches, performing at several comedy festivals around the country and starting a web comedy channel.

Eitan, spokesman for the group, is very excited about the upcoming competition. "We plan on giving 110%, taking what we have in our hearts and bringing it out there on the field. We aren't interested in playing Monday morning quarterback so we plan on leaving it all out on there on the gridiron. This is a football game, right?"
