Syrian Sunrise Foundation Launches an Emergency Appeal to Aid the Victims of the Alleged Chemical Attack in Syria and Urges the Protection of all Civilians
Franklin, MI (PRWEB) August 24, 2013 -- The Syrian Sunrise Foundation (SSF) condemns the deadly alleged chemical attack in Syria and calls for the intervention of the US administration, the UN and international NGOs. The SSF has received urgent calls for help from that area as scores need vital assistance.
Several of Damascus suburbs (Reef Dimashq) were hit by alleged chemical weapons. According to Al Jazeera report (Hundreds reported killed in Syria gas attack; August 21, 2013), the estimated number of death has surpassed 1,400 people. More lives are at risk if the world chooses to stand by idly. (http://www.aljazeera.com/news/middleeast/2013/08/201382163812810810.html)
In response, SSF has sent $100,000 for immediate healthcare assistance that will be delivered to Reef Dimashq (Damascus Countryside).
However, doctors on the ground in Reef Dimashq report that the current resources are not enough, and that local and field hospitals operate beyond full capacity.
The SSF urges the US administration to:
- Call for an immediate investigation of the alleged massacre
- Establish safe zones into Reef Dimashq to insure safe delivery of relief supplies
- Create reliable routes for humanitarian agencies to evacuate the victims
- Deliver more medical supplies and humanitarian aid through established Syrian American relief organizations.
We call upon generous donors to contribute towards our relief efforts at http://www.ssfusa.org.
SSF, established in 2011, is a US-based relief and humanitarian organization, whose focus is to facilitate humanitarian assistance for Syria and respond to emergency situations.
