TaKaDu announced today that South West Water (SWW) in the UK has commenced roll-out of its unique Software-as-a-Service network monitoring solution.
SWW has started using TaKaDu’s water network monitoring solution as part of its innovation programme and plans to evaluate the extent to which TaKaDu can help deliver operational efficiencies, as well as helping to avoid unnecessary water loss.
SWW provides water services to 1.6 million customers in Devon, Cornwall and parts of Dorset and Somerset through a distribution network of around 15,000 Km of pipes. Since leakage targets were first introduced almost 15 years ago, South West Water has met its leakage target almost every year and is an industry leader in terms of fewest litres lost per day per kilometre of pipe.
TaKaDu’s Software-as-a-Service solution analyses data received from existing meters and sensors already installed in the SWW distribution network to identify network inefficiencies or faults before they escalate. This allows SWW to continue to maintain a low level of leakage along with an improved level of service.
“In order to retain our position as an industry leader, it’s becoming increasingly important to manage our network in a smarter way,” said Mark Baker, Supply Manager at SWW. “The TaKaDu trial is being conducted as part of our commitment to improve network and operational efficiency.”
“I am excited about working with a forerunner like SWW and glad that TaKaDu was selected to help achieving the company’s objectives,” said Amir Peleg, Founder and CEO of TaKaDu.
“Today’s announcement is testament to the positive response we have had to our water network monitoring solution in the UK. There is an increasing need for real-time analysis of network data to provide operators with actionable insights, leading to improved operational efficiency and compliance with leakage targets, and the TaKaDu solution meets that need.”
