Houston, TX (PRWEB) August 23, 2013
VB Attorneys of Houston TX have filed a lawsuit against Fireworks Artistry, a licensed pyrotechnics company commissioned for the Fourth of July fireworks display held at the Uvalde County Fairplex.
According to reports, during the July 4th fireworks display, one or more mortars landed near the Muniz family and their van. The explosion caused Steve Muniz and Anasti Muniz, who was just 5 months old at the time of the accident, to suffer severe burns. The baby was airlifted to San Antonio for medical treatment.
While the accident is currently not under investigation by the State Fire Marshall, personal injury attorney Vuk Vujasinovic today stated that companies such as Fireworks Artistry have a duty to make sure their employees are trained properly and that safety regulations are followed to ensure the safety of the public.
“The cause of the accident remains unknown, but this family sustained injuries that will impact them for the rest of their lives, and that raise a lot of important questions that need to be answered,” said Vujasinovic who represents the Muniz family in this matter. “The fireworks company refuses to turn over their investigation materials. We are conducting our own investigation into the matter, and will be investigating whether or not the company followed the applicable safety rules.”
The Muniz family and Vujasinovic were interviewed by Dillon Collier, of KENS 5 San Antonio. The interview aired on Tuesday, August 20, 2013.
Mr. Vujasinovic has represented several burn injury victims in the past. Burn injury victims often require years of medical treatment after their initial injury. Mr. Vujasinovic's experience in handling serious burn cases has provided him with thorough understanding of how to successfully handle these types of cases.
