The Environmental Works, Inc. (EWI) board of directors is pleased to announce that five employees have purchased the company from the estate of EWI founder Robin E. Melton. CEO Jamie Sivils, Springfield; President Jason Smith, Springfield; CFO Andrea Pence, Springfield; Regional Manager Meredith Kenworthy, Kansas City; and Managing Principal Paul Dial, Kansas City, completed the transaction on June 5, 2013 with plans to continue expanding EWI’s leadership position in the marketplace.

Prior to Melton’s death in 2012, she had established a comprehensive estate plan, placing EWI into a trust. An executive committee was appointed and comprised of top managers, business associates and her sister, Erin Palicki. The committee formed the company’s board of directors and has directed operations through CEO Jamie Sivils and President Jason Smith since her passing. The new ownership team includes employees that previously held EWI management positions. Their plans to move the company forward are based upon Melton’s ideas and intentions for growth.

“We all had the opportunity to work with Robin, learn how she operated and understand what her goals for the company were,” says Sivils. “Each board member was chosen by her and we are all honored to serve and carry out her vision for EWI.”

“I am excited about our team’s direction and for EWI’s future,” Smith adds. “There is no company better positioned or dedicated to provide its clients premiere environmental solutions in due diligence, management, remediation, and contracting and field services.”
