Garmin VIRB is Garmin's new entry-level 1080px HD action camera that provides point-of-view action footage according to the Heart Rate Watch Company.
"We are really excited about Garmin's new action camera and the Garmin VIRB Elite is a real game changer," says Rusty Squire, President of the Heart Rate Watch Company. He adds, "The VIRB Elite displays data like heart rate, speed and even maps on screen with your footage, whereas the VIRB takes trueHD and allows for edits."
"For users that have other Garmin devices, like the Garmin Edge 510, with Bluetooth Smart or want GPS maps then you are better off with the VIRB Elite, but if you just want great footage that is editable then the VIRB fits the bill," says Squire.
The Garmin VIRB comes with some mounting hardware and optional mounts are available for sports like skiing according to Squire. "It has all the industry standard mounting hardware available and shoots in true 1080px HD with wide angle so you never miss any of the action", says Squire.
Battery Life and Image Stabilization
Garmin VIRB offers a best-in-class 2,000mAh battery providing three continuous hours of shooting in HD. VIRB also contains state of the art image stabilization.
Take It Underwater
With an optional waterproof case, you can film underwater adventures with VIRB, like snorkeling in Hawaii or the Caribbean.
Garmin VIRB retails for $299.99 and will be available for delivery in early September at the Heart Rate Watch Company, while the VIRB Elite will not be available until after mid-September.
How to Order
"You can advance order your Garmin VIRB or VIRB Elite now at the Heart Rate Watch Company and we won't charge your credit card until it ships," says Squire. He adds, "I'd recommend getting in line early, especially for the Garmin VIRB Elite - these will be hot gift items this Holiday season".
